The family is thankful to the 2nd and 3rd floor nurses at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, and especially Karen during that last evening. They are also grateful for the support of Mitch, a Community Paramedic with RCP.

Gerry enjoyed his career as a mechanic, owning his own truck repair shop and finishing up his working life at Cassidy’s Transfer and Storage. His children, and especially his grandchildren, benefited greatly from his mechanic skills. He was a master storyteller, loved the outdoors, spending time at his hunt camp and calling his “buddies”. He was an avid fan of the Jays and the Leaf’s and any team playing the Habs. Most of all he was a great husband, father and an awesome Grandpa.

Respecting Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church with the intimacy of the immediately family only. Final resting place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow this summer.  Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Food Bank, Zion Lutheran Church or CHEO would be appreciated. Online donations/condolences are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com
