Obituary of Christian von der Hoeh

von der Hoeh, Christian Alfred - (May 3, 1931 - December 20, 2021)

Christian Alfred von der Hoeh of Golden Lake went to his Eternal Home to be with his Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 30, 2021 in his 91st year at Caressant Care  Nursing Home, Cobden, Ontario.

Christian will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his beloved wife of 48 years, Erika von der Hoeh (nee Weiss).  Children Andrea Zadow (Steve Skinner), Daniel von der Hoeh and Bernie von der Hoeh (Karen), grandchildren Jeremy and Alex Zadow and son-in-law Calvin Zadow.  Survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives in Germany.

Christian was born May 3, 1931 in Dortmund, Germany as the ninth and last remaining of 10 children of the late Karl and Luise von der Hoeh (nee Wulff).  Christian immigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled in Hamilton, Ontario where he worked as a tool  and die maker at Consumers Glass for over 30 years.  Upon his retirement in 1996, Christian moved his family to Golden Lake, Ontario where he enjoyed his retirement by spending time with family and friends.  Special thanks to the nurses and PSWs at Caressant Care, Cobden.

Funeral Service will be held at Salem Evangelical Missionary Church in Augsburg on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow in Trinity Cemetery in Bonnechere Vally Township followed by a Celebration of Life at Frontier Trails Camp.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Christian's memory to the Ottawa Heart Institure and/or Samaritan's Purse Canada.  Online condolences or donations are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com
