HIGGINSON, William Hall "Bill" Passed away peacefully in the Complex Care Unit of Marianhill on Saturday, August 25, 2007 in his 75th year. Longtime Member of the Rotary Club of Pembroke Honorary Member of the Kiwanis Club of Pembroke Member of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation Board of Directors Member of the Legal Aid Advisory Board Founding Member of Crime Stoppers Co-ordinator of the Annual Terry Fox Run Past Alderman & Deputy Mayor of The City of Pembroke Recipient of the 2006 Citizen Of The Year Award - Pembroke Chamber of Commerce Editor & Publisher of the Pembroke Observer For Many Years Remained a Current Feature Writer For The Pembroke Observer Bill Higginson of Pembroke, beloved husband of Joan Higginson (nee Spittall). Dearly loved father of Rhea Wootton (husband Victor), Ottawa. Cherished "Grandpa Cane" to Amber, Talia & Billy. Brother of Rhea MacDougall (husband Harry), Pembroke. Predeceased by his brother Bob Higginson. Survived by sister-in-law Marge Higginson of Alberta. Also survived by nieces Nancy Blake (Rick) & Cathy Sloan (Bob) and nephew Kevin MacDougall (Carolyn). The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Linda Scully, Dr. Colin MacPherson, Dr. Joan Tyler, Dr Delbrook, Dr. Moosimir, and the nursing staff of the Complex Care Unit of Marianhill for their excellent care of Bill during his lengthy illness. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday from 7-9:00 p.m.; Monday from 2-4:00 & 7-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12-2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
