William Fairweather

d. May 5, 2014

FAIRWEATHER, William Edward - it is with heavy hearts and wonderful memories that we announce the passing of Bill Fairweather on Monday, May 5, 2014. Bill was born in Unity, Saskatchewan, on January 2, 1926 and was predeceased by his wife Myrna. He was a thoughtful, caring and supportive father to Julie (Harvie) and David; and loving grandfather to Mitch, Talia, Shailla and Carissa; and great-grandfather to Alayah. Bill had his own business in Pembroke, where he raised his family and coached and played hockey for the Pembroke Lumber Kings. In 1976 he moved the family to Ottawa, where he taught at Algonquin College until his retirement. He will always be remembered for his love of sports and clever wit. Bill's life will be celebrated with a visitation at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 2 to 4:00 p.m., followed by interment in Wesley United Cemetery. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or Knox United Church, Ottawa would be appreciated.) Online condolences and donations are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com.
