PAPKE, Violet Florence Passed away peacefully at Pembroke Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Violet Papke (nee Hass) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Edward Papke. Loving mother of Donald Popkie (Judy), Pembroke; Ellard Popkie (Shirley), Pembroke; Gilbert Popkie (Beverly), Pembroke; Vincent Popkie, Pembroke; Joan Popkie, Ottawa; Marjorie Demers (Roger), Chapeau; Delphine Luloff (Stanley), Golden Lake; Weldon Popkie (Jane), Lapasse; Rudolph Popkie, Calgary; Sheila McQuade (Brian), Pembroke; and Arlene Popkie, Demers Centre. Grandmother of 32 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late John & Amanda Hass (nee Weichenthal). Sister of Leady Kellar (late Erie); Renfrew; Evelyn Behm (late Bert), Pembroke; Clifford Hass (Freida), Hardwood Lake; and Iona Behm (Emil), Hardwood Lake. Predeceased by daughter Mildred Giesler (late Carl), brothers John Hass and Leonard Hass (late Esther), and sister Selma Kellar (Dave), Hardwood Lake. Visitation at the MALCOLM, DEAVITT & BINHAMMER FUNERAL HOME, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke, on Saturday from 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
