Vern Wilson

W.W. Vern Wilson (OPP veteran of 31 years) W.W. Vern Wilson, 67 of Ottawa, died June 26, 2010 following a long battle with cancer. Born March 20, 1943 in Foresters Falls ON, the son of the late Maurice Wilson and Muriel Waite. Vern was a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police where he completed 31 years of dedicated service to the force, working across the province in Morrisburg, Winchester, Sharbot Lake, Owen Sound, Hawksbury, and finally Kanata where he retired in 1994. Predeceased by two sisters, Merle and Gloria; he leaves behind his sister Wanda Meilleur of Pembroke, son Tom (Glenda) Wilson of Toronto and daughter Kelly (Jason) Porteous of Osgoode, and four grandchildren; Earl, Abigail, Isaac, and Eliza Jane. Memorial visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. (in lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated).
