SWORD, Thomas (Tom) Wilson - passed away at Roberta Place, Barrie on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the age of 96 years. Tom Sword, formerly of Pembroke, loving husband of the late Marguerite (Rita) Sword (nee Middleton). Dear father of Martha Spiller (Douglas), Cookstown; and grandfather of Arthur Spiller. Brother of Roberta Stevenson, Arnprior; and brother-in-law of Mable Middleton (late Harris). Predeceased by sisters Hazel Deans, Helen Graves, Jean Moorhead, Agnes Sword & Lillian Dobson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Parry Sound, Tom moved to Ottawa and served overseas in WWII as a lieutenant in the Canadian Armed Forces Intelligence Division before becoming a longtime resident and businessman in Pembroke. All who knew Tom are welcome to attend visitation at the MALCOLM, DEAVITT & BINHAMMER FUNERAL HOME, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday, January 4, 2013 after 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Spring Interment in Wesley United Cemetery.
