COTTER, Stirling "John" - suddenly, after a short battle with cancer, at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the age of 72 years. Stirling "John" Cotter of Pembroke, loving husband of Betty Cotter (nee Schroeder). Son of the late Ken & Ethel Cotter. Brother of Shirlee Macomber (late Don), Boston, Massachusetts; Joyce Cotter, Halifax, Nova Scotia; Joan Scott (George), Truro, Nova Scotia; and Richard Cotter (Sharon), Truro, Nova Scotia. Brother-in-law of John Schroeder (Carolle), Petawawa. Lyn Kangropool, Pembroke. Predeceased by brothers Ken Cotter (Rosemary); and Ernest Cotter (Tammy) and brothers-in-law Nelson, Donald, Roy and Basil Jr. Schroeder. Dear Godfather to J.D. Schroeder and Betty-Ann Hammel. Respecting John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate John's life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 72 on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 2-4:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
