Marquardt, Stan – passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Heart Institute, with his family by his side, on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 63 years.
Stan Marquardt of Pembroke, proud owner of Pembroke Auto Sales, beloved husband & best friend of Barbara Marquardt (nee Zadow). Loving father and friend to Mandy & Curtis Marquardt (Abby Charbonneau). Cherished Grandpa to Charlotte & Marie. Best chum & fur grandpa to Harley. Son of the late Emerson & Margaret Marquardt; and dear brother of Garry & Sandra Marquardt, all of Eganville. Son-in-law to Ron & Lois Zadow; and brother-in-law to Jim & Bev, Colleen, and Mark & Lisa. Fun-loving Uncle Stu to Natalie & Peter, Justy & Cait, Nick & Sam, Lindsey & Ben, Eric (Sydney), Josh & Kelly, & Sam; and great-nieces & nephews, Madison, Hudson, Molly, Bo, Wrenley & Emma. Also survived by special in-laws, adored friends & extended family.
Every good salesman knows the phrase 'Meet, Greet, Qualify'. Stan embodied this above and beyond the car dealership, applying it to every person who was lucky enough to cross his path. His ability to meet people from all walks of life, ask questions, thoughtfully listen & make them feel comfortable was truly inspiring.
He would go above and beyond with thoughtful gestures after a simple conversation with someone. Certainly, these small acts of kindness are things this world needs a bit more of. And yes, there were a few what-not-to-do's we learned from Stan as well, but there is a time and place for those stories.
Breakfast at Bonanza, a motorcycle cruise in the sunshine, and a meal at King Burger are just a few things the perfect day for Stan would include.
Our family always made sure to let one another know how much we loved each other; often through words but always through actions.
Someday we will find comfort in knowing he has no doubt in his mind how much he means to us, and we know how much we mean to him. To love and to be loved is life's greatest gift.
The rumble of a passing Harley will forever be the song of Stan in our hearts.
Bad to the Bone.
Stan the Man.
