Shirley Lyla Denniston

DENNISTON, Shirley Lyla – passed away unexpectedly at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the age of 88 years with family by her side. 

Shirley Denniston (nee Dunlop) of Pembroke, wife of the late Merle Denniston. Dearly loved mother of Joyce McGuire (Pat), James Denniston, Laurie Denniston, and Bruce Denniston (Janet). Caring grandma of Erin Sandrelli (Brad), Aissa, & Shannon McGuire; Megan & Heather Kime; Kaelen, Liam, & Tristan Donnelly (James Roy); and Emily Denniston (Colin), Jillian Diezel (Zeke), & Kate Summers (Wil). Great-grandma (G.G) to Ty & Nathan; Ireland; Lux; Grace & Max; Beau & Summer; and Wilson. Cherished sister of Joyce Nicholson and the late Weldon Dunlop. Sisterly cousin and best friend of Shirley Horricks. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Calvin United Church, 276 Church St., Pembroke on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. followed by fellowship and refreshments. Spring interment in Calvin United Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Calvin United Church would be appreciated.
