FABIAN, Roy Joseph (WWII Veteran & Commissionaire - Petawawa, retired) Passed away following a battlewith cancer at the age of 87 years. The world's a little poorer, For a soldier died today. Roy Fabian of RR#7 Pembroke, beloved husband of Mary Fabian (nee Crook) for 65 years. Beloved son of the late Christie Fabian (Frances (nee Yantha)) and the late Lila Fabian (nee Eno). Missed by his children: Marlyn Carr (Wayne), Sandra Drohan (John), and Brenda, Colin (Cindy), Glen & Terry Fabian. Predeceased by son Gordon (1977). Grandfather of Joanne (Monica), Shelley (Janet) & Steven (Hong Mei) Carr; Lori Borutski (Arthur); Jeffrey Fabian; Amanda Bellamy (Jon) & Eric Fabian (Rachel); and Christopher (Maria), Jennifer (Sheldon Burnett), Kristen (Malcolm), Kayla & Nathan Fabian. Great-grandfather of 13. Loving brother of Ardella Begley (late Roy), Harriet Nicholas (late Jerry), Ernest (Joan, late Keitha), Doreen Nicholas (late Roy), Barbara McMillan (William Sumers, late Howard), Shirley Peckford (Bert), Dianne, Marian Dennison (late Robert), Edward (Betty), and Carson. Predeceased by brother Graydon, sister Catherine and two infant siblings. Respecting Roy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at the MALCOLM, DEAVITT & BINHAMMER FUNERAL HOME, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday from 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday after 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment of Ashes in Calvin United Cemetery, Pembroke. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are requested to assemble at the Funeral Home for Service Friday at 7:30 p.m. (In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital, the Marianhill Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.)
