Rita Jane Woermke

It is with great sadness the family of Rita announces her passing on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in her 96^th year.

Rita Woermke (nee Lewis) of Pembroke, wife of the late Mervin Grosskleg by first marriage and the late Harold Woermke by second marriage.  Dear mother of Barry Grosskleg (Arlene), Terry Woermke (Holly) and Donna Sangster (Rick), all of Pembroke.  Loving Granny of Krista (Ian) & Julie (Nathan); Josh & Kaity; and Jennifer (Josh) & Tyler (Stephanie). Special Great-Granny/G.G. to Meara & Molly; Madison & Ronin; Lincoln; and Jasper, Vada & Jake.  Dear sister of Patsy Labine (late Raymond), Marion Gutz (Alfred), Darlene Myers and Desmond (late Dorothy).  Predeceased by parents William & Mary Lewis (nee Giles) and siblings Garnet Lewis (late Madonna), Robert Lewis (Lillian), Francis Lewis (Marjorie) and Margaret Lair (late Patrick).  Survived by several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Zion Evangelical United Church, 368 Miller St., Pembroke on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. As per the request of the family, hugging is discouraged at this time. Interment in the parish cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to Zion Evangelical United Church or Carefor Mackay Complex would be appreciated.
