Richard CHUBAK

CHUBAK, Richard Ramsay Passed away peacefully at his home in Petawawa after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, in his 64th year. Richard Chubak of Petawawa, beloved husband of Luba Chubak (nee Kolody). Dear father of Lydia Kapel (John), Timmins; and Andrew Chubak (Jamie), Pembroke. Loving grandfather of Gloria; and Charlie & Alice. Brother of Toni Chubak, Nelson, B.C. Predeceased by sister Gloria Johnson (Mark), B.C. Son of the late Nicholas Chubak (Olga), Pembroke and the late Mary Chubak (nee Begini). Also survived by three nephews. Richard was an avid fisherman and member of Valley Bass Trail. He taught elementary school for 31 years, and served on Petawawa Township Council for 15 years. The family would like to thank Dr. Park in Deep River, Dr. Goss and his research team along with the oncology department at the Ottawa Cancer Centre, Dr. Rosemary Gilbert and special thanks to John and Myrna Kilborn for their endless care and support throughout Richard's illness. Respecting Richard's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A graveside interment of ashes will be held in the Spring of 2009.
