MERREDEW, Rachel Irene
Aged 19, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in a tragic car accident.
Rachel had just finished her first year at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, taking General Arts and Sciences leading to a degree in Addictions Counselling. Rachel was a star in our lives, our "Buttondew," a compassionate, loyal friend, an inquisitive scholastic achiever, a lover of cats and dogs, and a beautiful, happy and determined person. She is sorely missed by her mother, Maureen Loretta Merredew (née Fairthorne); her sister, Kayla Claire Merredew; her stepfather, Joseph Kennedy, and his daughters, Chanalle and Tenelle; her father, Charles Remus Merredew; and her stepmother, Lori Jayne Anderson. Rachel's grandmother (Elva Shirley Merredew), her uncles (Paul Merredew, Mark Merredew and Mark Fairthorne), her aunts (Maria Fairthorne, Maria Merredew and Pauline Fairthorne), many cousins, other extended family and innumerable friends also mourn her passing.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations can be made, through Malcolm Deavitt Binhammer Funeral Home, Box 74, Pembroke, Ontario, K8A 6X1, to a scholarship being set up in Rachel's name at Mackenzie High School in Deep River (cheques payable to the Rachel Merredew Scholarship Fund Account #100660059722).
