Peter Copis

COPIS, Peter Louis - passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 64 years. Peter Copis of Pembroke, son of the late Mary (Athanas) and Louis Copis. Raised by Mother, Grandmother Catherine Athanas and Uncle Tony Athanas in Ottawa. Proud husband and partner of Lois (Redford). Also survived by my Aunt Bessie Sperdakos and cousins (nee Sperdakos) Kalli, Kathy, Alex and Kristine; and also by cousin Nick Galanos who were like sisters and a brother. To my in-laws, resting and present, you were like first family. To my curling fraternity, may your slide be a long one, so says the Great Graniti. To all my family and friends, we will meet again over the horizon, I am there. A special thank-you to the medical staff and attendants of the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, particularly Drs. Anstee, Tay and Atkins and the nurses of the Medical Day Care Unit, all who take care of so many. Also to the staff of the Pembroke Regional Hospital, and to Dr. Rowan of the Petawawa Centennial Family Health Centre, whose open door and personal support made the path easier. You are special. Cremation has taken place and final interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa.
