KATHEN, Nelson (Nellie) "Retired Pembroke Firefighter - 30 years" - Passed away peacefully in the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004 in his 72nd year. Nelson Kathen of Pembroke beloved husband of Freda Kathen (nee Melcher). Dearly loved father to Bryan Kathen (wife Louise), Pembroke and Nancy Walsh (husband Liam), also of Pembroke. Grandpa to Emily, Nicholas & Noah Kathen and Natalie, Elizabeth & Jenna Walsh. Brother of Brunell "Louie" Kathen (wife Marilyn), Pembroke; Robert "Bobby" Kathenm (wife Janesta), Nova Scotia; Angela Huckabone (husband Tom), Pembroke and Janet Severin (husband Mel), Pembroke. Predeceased by parents Edward & Anna Mae Kathen (nee St. Denis). Survived by several nieces & nephews. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Thursday from 2 until 4:00 and 7 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 5th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
