Neil THURSTON

THURSTON, Neil Albert Peacefully in the Elizabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Unit, Ottawa, after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 16th, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Neil Thurston of Ottawa and formerly of Petawawa, dearly loved husband of Eleanor Thurston (nee Higginson). Dear father of Heather Brunet (husband John), Ottawa; Kevin Thurston (Selma), Ottawa; Deborah Prescott (husband Wayne), Pembroke; and Barbara Silke (husband Michael), Petawawa. Grandpa to Andrea and Michael Brunet; Jason and Patrick Thurston; Holly Byers (husband Steve) and Crystal Prescott; Steven and Ashley Silke. Son of the late Albert and Eileen Thurston (nee Neil). Brother of Norma Lewis (husband John), Oshawa. Predeceased by sister Beryl Locke, and daughter-in-law Ginette Thurston. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, l4l Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Service in the Chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then will be laid to rest in his beloved Madawaska which was near and dear to his heart.
