Nancy Lillian Cushnie

Nancy Lillian Cushnie, of Pembroke, Ontario, passed away on June 4th, 2024, at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in her 70th year. Born and raised in Pembroke. 

Nancy was born to Keith and Betty Cushnie (nee Ritchie) and was the beloved sister of Carol Gletsu (the late Akude) and the late Keith Cushnie. Nancy's memory lives on through her sister Carol, and she will forever be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, and friend. 

Nancy was a loving aunt and was so very proud of her nieces and nephews, Nana (Eron), David, Mawunyo, Stephen, Keli, Allison, and Robin. Her presence in their lives was a source of endless love, guidance, and laughter. 

Nancy was so lucky to go on many trips with Carol and David. She was in Bermuda a few times and enjoyed a cruise from Boston to Bermuda as well. Last summer she went “on a trip of a lifetime” as she put it, to England and Scotland. David managed to research the Cushnie name in Scotland, and she was thrilled to visit the home of her ancestors. 

Respecting the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, honorary to Nancy’s love of animals, donations to SPCA would be appreciated.
