Murray Lawrence Moore

March 20, 1938 — April 3, 2025

MOORE, Murray Lawrence - Passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the age of 87 years.

Loving father to Christine Bibic, Jennifer Sequillion (Fred), and Julie Occleshaw (Steve). Proud grandfather to Brennan, Kaley, Eden, Logan and Anica Bibic, Jordan Gautreau (Zac), Sydney Peterson (Coulter), Josh Sequillion (Danielle), Cole Sequillion, Owen and Griffin Occleshaw. Adoring great grandfather to Mackenzie Gautreau. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Lulu Bell Moore (nee Kilpatrick) and siblings Melva and Bob.

Born in Ottawa, raised in Aylmer and Shawville Quebec, Murray considered Pembroke his home even though he resided in Kingston and Manotick to be closer to his family in recent years. He was well known in the community for his hard work and dedication. As a Kiwanian, he served as President and Lt Governor, with the Historical Society he designed and built the main building at the Champlain Trail Museum (now the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Center), he brought his progressive ideas as a board member at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, and as a founding member of St Luke's Anglican Church he served as building chair. Murray was a businessman owning and operating My Fair Lady of Pembroke and Lawrence Enterprises. He will best be remembered for his 44.5 years of dedication to the citizens of Pembroke in his roles with Pembroke Electric Light, Pembroke Hydro, Ottawa River Energy Solutions and Ottawa River Power Corporation. He relentlessly protected local customers fighting for fair rates and a secure future.
