Melvin Vis

VIS, Melvin “Mel” – passed away at Marianhill Hospice on Friday, February 21, 2020 in his 77th year. Mel Vis of Pembroke, beloved husband of Carolyn Vis (nee Geisler). Loving father of Stephen Vis (Jacquie Daniels), Calgary and Erin Vis (Andrew Millar), Kingston. Cherished grandfather of Reagan. Son of the late Andrew Vis and dear brother of Mike Vis (Wilma), Thunder Bay; Janet Jones (Orville), Pembroke & Florence Vaughan (late David), North Gower. Predeceased by Atje MycKatyn (late John) & Bonnie Ryan (late Garry). Also survived by brothers-in-law Doug Geisler (Dolores), Tavistock & William Geisler (Gayle), Mount Forest; as well as many nieces and nephews. Respecting Mel’s wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Ottawa for medical research. Memorial Visitation will be at Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service is held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Members of the Lions Club are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 for a service.
