Maurice 'Pat' Walsh

Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Monday, December 23, 2024 in his 91st year.

Pat Walsh of Petawawa, husband of Caroline Walsh (nee Lehman). Father of Stephen (Christine), Williamsburg; Liam Walsh (Nancy), Laurentian Valley; Nancy Walsh, Petawawa; and Brendan Walsh, Black Bay. Papa to Kate (Shaq); Natalie, Elizabeth (Jordan) & Jenna (Braeden); Margaret (Kurt); and Lynden. Loved by many great-grandchildren, Caroline’s family, extended family in Ireland, neighbours and friends.

Patty was a proud member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 60+ years. He was a founding father of the Local 594 Chapter and worked tirelessly around the clock advocating for union members, becoming the business manager of the union for 12+ years.

Pat’s work ethic, passion for sports, good nature and leadership skills lead him to coach local soccer, baseball, and hockey. He was a people person who had the gift to gab, he knew everyone and loved catching up in the aisle of any grocery store, but he also loved the tranquility of nature, spending many hours in his meticulous garden and Black Bay waterfront property.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. As an expression of sympathy, donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
