Mary Brown

BROWN, Mary Emily – passed away peacefully at Marianhill – Hospice, Pembroke on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Mary Brown (nee Hoffman), beloved wife for over 65 years to Arthur Brown. Dear mother of Philip (Jessica), Jonathan (Roxanne) and Andrea Fairweather. Proud Granny of Brendan, Sean, Naomi, Anne, Shailla (Kevin Samek) and Carissa (Andre Lafantaisie). Great-Granny to Alayah and Hunter. Sister-in-law of Eleanor Brown (late Ron). Daughter of the late William and Bertha Hoffman (nee Scheuneman). Predeceased by sisters Rachel (late Morris) & Noreen (late Mike), brother Arnold (late Geraldine) and infant great-grandson Landon Samek. The Brown family would like to thank everyone who contributed to the homecare given to Mary, especially Dr. Lane for her home visits with compassion and care. Thank you to the Bayshore nurses, especially Erin who gave 125% to the excellent care to keep Mary at home as long as possible. To CCAC for coordinating all of Mary’s needs with professionalism and promptness. It’s nice to know that there is such well run professional care available in the Ottawa Valley. Thank you all so much. There will be no visitation; in accordance with Mary’s wishes, her body has been directed to the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine for medical science. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Pembroke on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
