LOUNSBURY, Marion It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother - Marion Margaret Lounsbury, at home surrounded by the love of her family. We are also comforted that she has been re-united with the love of her life, her life partner and husband - Mackenzie Lounsbury -"Mac" - who passed away Dec 16, 1971. Marion is survived by her two daughters - Susan Bradley and Nancy Lounsbury and her grandchildren Jordan Kelly and Lucas Bradley and Lucas's wife Corey. Mom is also survived by her nephew David Lounsbury and his wife Janet. Mom was the last of her generation having lost her sisters Lorna and her husband Pat, Jean and her husband Harry and brother Jack. She was also predeceased by her nephew Jack Goodale and niece Helen Swerdfeger and Helen's daughter Lisa. Helen's husband John held a special place in Mom's heart. Mom always valued her lifelong friendship with Oona and Ross Shields. Oona and Mom spoke on the phone every day for decades and when she passed away Ross carried on this tradition. Mom was born in Hamilton Ontario to William and Nellie Graham in 1924. She attended Delta High School, Hamilton Business School and then went to work for McMaster University where she met our father. When he finished University and was hired by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. they set off for the town of Deep River. Mom worked for a brief period of time at AECL until they could afford to buy a car. Mom could be quite stern at times, but we always knew she would be there when we had a tough day. We will always be grateful for the gift of a full-time stay-at-home Mom. Mom's years were filled with caring for her beloved dogs Molly, Otis, Beaney, and Rachel. She discovered cats in her late 70's and was comforted for many years by the two Pauline's. Because of Mom's love of pet's we ask that memorial donations be made to the Renfrew County Branch of the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - P. O. Box 322, Petawawa, Ontario, K8H 3J1. We would like to recognize the special care that was provided to Mom for many years by Dr. Bushby - a truly dedicated and compassionate Physician. Thank you so much. As Mom made clear many years ago, she wished to be cremated and that there be "No Fuss". A memorial service will held at a later date.
