Marie Estella Hyde

May 24, 1936 — April 19, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Estella Hyde on April 19th, 2025, at the age of 88, at Country Haven Retirement Residence, with her loving son Allan at her side.

Daughter of the late Francis (nee Hanna) Lee and George Lee. Marie was born on May 24, 1936 in Madoc, where she met the love of her life, Edward, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

Marie had a passion and love for art and creativity, expressed through her painting, poetry, and many crafts. Her love and passion for art was only exceeded by the love and passion she had for her family, both immediate and extended. She expressed her love best through cooking and baking for many family gatherings. Her career included supporting the many businesses her and Edward built together in Madoc.

Marie is now reunited with those she loved who passed before her: her beloved husband Edward Hyde, her parents George and Frances Lee and sister-in-law Peggy Hyde.

Her memory and love will forever live on through her son, Allan Hyde and daughter-in-law Arlene (nee Kauffeldt) Hyde, grandchildren Leigh (Jason) Costello and Nathan (Sarah) Hyde and two great-granddaughters Anna and Isla Hyde, who called her Nana. She is survived by three brothers Doug (Myrna) Lee, George (Teresa) Lee and Fred (Anne) Lee. She will also be deeply missed by brother-in-law Ron Hyde, sisters-in-law Louise Kelly, Evelyn Vandergeld, Sharon Hyde and Audrey Hyde and many nieces and nephews.

Honouring Marie's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made in her memory to Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation or The Heart of Hastings Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.

Rest Peacefully Marie; wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Your memory will forever be cherished by all who knew you.
