Lewis was born and grew up near the hamlet of Boulter, Ontario. He and his wife Eva grew up on adjacent farms where the 7 children of Eva and John Bronson, were the constant companions of the 6 children of Jack and Rita Allison. In 1945, on his return from World War II as a RCAF bomber pilot, the 2 families were united with the marriage of Lewis Lee Bronson and Eva Annette Allison.
Lew found work with the Ontario Department of Lands and Forest. His work led him to North Bay, Kirkland Lake, and finally Pembroke, where he and Eva decided to make their permanent home.
Lew found his passion in work. After his retirement from the Ministry of Natural Resources, he turned his attention to wood working. Through the years he produced wonderful furniture pieces that continue to give pleasure to all those who received them. Grandkids got beds and dressers, sons received tables and cabinets and step stools became a favorite gift of everyone who was lucky enough to receive one.
Eva and Lew were also consummate gardeners. The 1 acre site of their home on Forest Lea Road was a show place of not only beautiful flowers that announced entry to the property, but also for the huge garden that produced enough for the cold cellar, and also kept friends and family well supplied. The garden received community recognition on more than one occasion as the best garden in Pembroke.
Lewis leaves behind his wife of 67 years Eva, his son Brian (Suzanne) grandchildren Marc (Rachelle), Monique (Jeff), great grandchildren Callum and Allison; son Eric (Ingrid) grandchildren Chris, Brianna (John) and Sherri (Jeff), and great grandson Hudson.
