Laurie Hammel (nee Romhild) of 774 McGuire St., Pembroke, dearly loved wife and best friend of Jim Hammel. Cherished mom of Becky and Jaime, at home. Youngest daughter of Clarence and the late Judy Romhild (nee Guest), Pembroke. Loving step-daughter of Lynn Romhild (Biesenthal). Dear sister of Gail Nieman, Pembroke. Daughter-in-law of Lise and the late Edgar Hammel, Carleton Place. Sister-in-law of Paul Hammel (Betty Ann), Pembroke; Janice Nagora (Barry), Pembroke; Wilma Connah (Scottie), Carleton Place; Ruth Johnson (Blaine), Ottawa; Donna Gaudet (Bruce), Ottawa; and step-sister of Amy Hill (Dan), Pembroke; and Jason Biesenthal (Nadine), Ottawa. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Alice on Sunday, January 30th at 2 p.m. Spring interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Alice.
