Larry BEHNKE

BEHNKE, Larry Wallace Passed away surrounded by his family at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in his 68th year. Larry Behnke of Beachburg, beloved husband of 45 years of Florence Behnke (nee Kenny). He will be sadly missed by his daughters Juanita Elmhirst (Billy), Peterborough; Tracy MacIntyre (Kevin), Russell; Sally Bulmer (Todd), Pakenham; and Jane Crawford (Reed), Glencoe. Proud Poppa to Owen, Katie, Morgan, Dakota and Shayne. Dear son of Ella (nee Schwantz) and the late Wallace Behnke, Pembroke. Brother of Elwin Behnke (Vivian), Petawawa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Larry passed on his love for cattle, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Larry's presence will always be felt by his family along the Ottawa River at "the Point". Despite his great accomplishments as a Simmental breeder, he felt his greatest achievements were his daughters and grandchildren. Many thanks to the staff at the Pembroke Regional Hospital for their support and compassion. Visitation at the MALCOLM, DEAVITT & BINHAMMER FUNERAL HOME, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke, on Thursday from 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m. Larry's life will be celebrated with a service in the Chapel on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., followed by cremation. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to C.H.E.O. dialysis unit would be appreciated.) We will always miss you and love you Daddy and Poppa.
