BOWES, Kenneth Clifford "Cliff"
Suddenly at home after work on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in his 72nd year.
Cliff Bowes of Petawawa, husband of June Bowes (nee Gilchrist). Father of Dale (Rodney) Clouthier, North Bay; Debbie Bowes, Perth; Donna (Andy) Bowes-Shanks, Smith's Falls; David (Nancy) Bowes, Lancaster; and Denise (Doran) Power, Kingston, NS. Grandfather of Amanda, David, Kirk and Luke Clouthier; Shane, Christopher and Cassie Bowes-Shanks; and Dustin, Nathen and Ashley Bowes. Brother of Massie (Carson) Stewart, Deep River; Verla (late Gerald) Hoffman, Ottawa; Betty (Gerry Curry) Charbonneau, Oshawa; and Denzil (Jean) Bowes, Burritts Rapids. Predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.
Survived by 3 sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews. Clifford was a long time employee of 50 years with Herb Shaw and Sons. He enjoyed driving his Mack truck, hunting and fishing, and most certainly, mentioning his grandchildren. He was known to have odd pets, and was famous in the paper as 'Cliff and his beer drinking pal.' (It was a bear.) His zest for work was an example of his life-long dream. Dad, you made it to the end. You will be greatly missed.
