Passed away surrounded by his family at Marianhill on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 64.

Loving husband of Elaine Markell (nee Van Strepen).  Son of the late Kenneth and Shirley Markell.  Brother of Lillian Finn (Bob), Susan Bond (Abby) and Michael Markell.  Brother-in-law of Dave Van Strepen, Bridgette Williams, Sean Van Strepen, Diane Harrison (Steve), Albert Van Strepen (Linda) and Angel Williams.  Uncle to Colin, Philip, Jimmy, Sean, Dustin, Peggy Lee, Todd, Ann Cherie, Jody, Stacia, Stephanie, Brittany, James, Jessica and Cathy.  Gruncle of Dawson, Vayda, Benjamin, Scarlett and Lucian.  He will be sadly missed by his many friends and his Military family.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.   A Celebration of Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517, Petawawa on Thursday, August 30th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Interment to take place in the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces (Beechwood Cemetery), Ottawa on Friday, August 31st at 1:00 p.m.   In Lieu of flowers donations to ALS Society would be appreciated.  Online donations and condolences may be made at www.mdbfuneralhome.com
