TORBITT, Kathleen J. "Kathy"
(Retired Master Warrant Officer after 29 years with Department of National Defence)
Passed away after a courageous struggle with cancer, in the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the age of 56 years.
Kathy Torbitt of Petawawa, beloved wife and best friend of George Wadden. Daughter of the late Evaline & Arthur Torbitt (nee Donnelly). Sister to Allan Torbitt, Ottawa and Tom Torbitt, Manitoba. She is also survived by George's children Doug Wadden (Darlene), Orangeville and Cheryl Ramsay (Frank), Ingleside. Grandmother to Drew & Danielle. Kathy was born in Souris, Manitoba, moving in 1966 to her father's family farm in Champlin, Saskatchewan. At a young age, she joined the Canadian Military and served in various postings and retired with a rank of Master Warrant Officer, after a prosperous career spanning 29 years.
Memorial Visitation will be held at the Maclolm Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. Interment of Ashes on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the National Military Cemetery located in the Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa (613-741-9530).
