GUST, Karl Frederick Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the Palliative Care Unit of Marianhill on Sunday, March 20th, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Karl Gust of R. R. # 5, Pembroke, dearly loved husband of Phyllis Gust (nee Rahn). Dear father of Frank Gust, Calgary; Pamela Duplessis (husband Daniel), Pembroke; and Ellen Vandersleen (husband Gerry), Pembroke. Predeceased by son Harvey Gust. Loving grandpa to Grant Gust (Candace), Hollie Bobak (Troy), Jackie Searle (Andrew), Vickie Benoit (Chris), Renée Lantaigne, John, Philip, Rebecca and Heather Vandersleen, Justin and Kyle Duplessis. Great grandpa to Jake, James, Cameron, Matthew, William and Kirsten. Son of the late Frank and Whilhelmina Gust (nee Baker). Brother of Audrey Lehman (late Murray), Pembroke. Predeceased by brother Elmer Gust (wife Myrtle), Eganville. Survived by nieces and nephews. Karl's family wishes to thank the staff at the Pinewood Retirement Residence, the Palliative Care Unit of Marianhill, and Pastors Svante Olson and Martin Malina for all their care and compassion. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in Zion Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Spring interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
