John Winston Layden

LAYDEN, John Winston - passed away peacefully at home with family by his side, on Monday, December 20, 2021 in his 81st year. 

John Layden of Pembroke, loving husband of Charlotte Layden (nee Schiemann). Dear father of Roxanna Fardy (Victor) & Keith Layden both of Pembroke. Cherished grandfather of Emily (Jonny) Fardy & Rebecca (Garrett)  Fardy and by great-grandchildren Oliver, Holden & Eira. Survived by brother Grandville "Dick" Layden (Rowella). Predeceased by parents John & Annie Layden (nee Prichard) and by siblings Marion Tucker (Alfie), Elizabeth Wheeler, Irene Anderson, Hazel Beals, Cliff & George Layden . Will be missed  by many extended family members and friends.  

John was a family man who enjoyed family and friend gatherings.  He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 34 1/2 years. He enjoyed hockey, golf and travelling.      Mrs. Layden would like to thank her family for all of their support  & love. To Dr. Gauthier for his help in trying times. To all the nursing staff for all their help and patience, the paramedics for their many calls. For all the prayers from people we know and don't know. Thank you. 

Respecting John's final wishes, cremation has taken place. Private interment of ashes in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
