CARNEGIE, John Edward (retired after 30 years with the Pembroke Fire Department and an avid curler) In the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Cobden on Monday, November 6th, 2006 at the age of 93 years. John Carnegie, formerly of 401 Alfred Street and Supples Landing, Pembroke, dearly loved husband of the late Sylvia Carnegie (nee Hocking). Dear father of Helen Gutzman (husband Mel), Hazley Bay; and Ann Purdon (husband Garfield), Medicine Hat, Alberta. Predeceased by infant daughter Catherine. Grandpa to Cynthia Chisholm (husband Tom), Lorelei Gutzman , Tim Gutzman and Steven Purdon (wife Laura). Great-grandpa to Duncan, Andrew and Avery. Son of the late Daniel and Martha Carnegie. Predeceased by brothers William (Bee), Garwin, Sanford, Eric, Daniel, and Allan Carnegie (wife Mae), Pembroke; and sisters Katie Thrasher and Elma Brown. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, l4l Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Service in the Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment in Wesley United Cemetery, Pembroke.
