Passed away on July 1, 2021 in Kitchener, Ontario, at the age of 70. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife Wendy and his children Shannon Bentley (the late Dan, February 3, 2021), and Stacy-Joe McMahon (Colin). Precious memories are left with his grandchildren; Joseph Lewis III, Spencer Hewitt (Kirsten), Evander and Keith Bentley, and his great-grandchildren, Zoe and Connor Hewitt. Much loved son-in-law of Jane Gibson and brother-in-law to Grant Spahr, Catharine Roes (Randy), and Patricia Salmen (Terry). Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mildred, father-in-law Neil Spahr, and sister-in-law Sharon Spahr. Joe will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews and cousins. An avid fisherman and hunter, Joe loved his old cars and tinkering with small engines. Many friends and neighbours will miss his constant willingness to fix their lawnmowers and snow blowers, and even do the work for them. Private cremation has taken place under the direction of the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Joe will be laid to rest at St. George's Anglican Church Cemetery in Pembroke, Ontario on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend, please maintain social disctancing and we ask that you wear a mask and bring a lawn chair and an umbrella. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
