SAAR, Joan Allison Peacefully in hospital, Pembroke on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Joan Saar (nee Barrett) of 364 Bell Street, Pembroke, dearly loved wife of Vern Saar. Dear mother of Susan Carmichael (Carlos), Port Hope; Nancy McCann (husband Peter), Pembroke; Cathy Paradis (husband Brent), Smokey Lake, Alberta; Judy McCardia (husband Rick), Edmonton, Alberta; and Jayne Saar (husband late Bill), Boyle, Alberta. Gramma to Katie, Maggie, Patrick, Kelly and Connor McCann; and Travis and Taylor Paradis. Daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Barrett (nee McCagherty). Sister of Helen Schultz (husband late Bert), Pembroke; and Petty Dodds, Ottawa. Predeceased by brother Edward Barrett and sister Eileen Lamothe. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, l4l Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in St. John's Lutheran Church, Pembroke on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Interment in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
