James Stewart

STEWART, James Daniel- passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the age of 75 years. Jim Stewart of Petawawa, much loved husband and companion of Ann (McIntyre) Stewart. Adored father of Trevor Stewart (Michelle), Toronto. Brother of Barrie Stewart (Brenda), Braeside. Son of the late William (Bill) and Mary Stewart, Renfrew. Brother-in-law of Heather Nesbitt (Pete), Ottawa and Sandra Pranschke (Gord), Gatineau. A rock of inspiration and strength for both family and friends, Jim was also a dedicated educator and is fondly remembered and highly regarded for his 34 years of exemplary service to the teaching profession both in the classroom and as Principal at CFB Petawawa. Capable of playing by ear, Jim would often spend time at the piano much to the enjoyment of those lucky enough to hear him play. Sports played a large role in his life, as a formidable athlete, respected coach and avid spectator (never missing a Senator's game). Jim could often be found happily cutting wood on his 100 acre property in Horton or diligently maintaining an immaculate home both inside and out. Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 7-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m.. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at North Horton Cemetery, Renfrew.
