FRASER, James Warren
At the Heart Institute, on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the age of 69 years.
Dear father of Wallace Fraser (Connie), Pembroke; Mary Fraser (Michael March), Laurentian Valley and Nancy Fraser (Jeffrey Gillham), Shelburne, Ontario. Beloved Papa to Morgan and Jordan Fraser, Emma and Will March and Alice and Max Gillham. Predeceased by his father Wallace Fraser and mother Mary Fraser (nee Warren). Also survived by his sisters, Esther Flack (Streetsville), Nancy Murphy (Peterborough), and Margaret Scheuneman (Laurentian Valley) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was born and raised in Pembroke. He grew up on a farm that was located just east of Moncion's Grocers and which ran from the Ottawa River's edge back to what is now Champlain Discovery School. He felt strong ties to this community, having descended from six pioneer families to this region. Jim attended the University of Toronto and there obtained his Bachelor of Arts and his Bachelor of Law degrees. He was called to the bar in 1965, and returned to Pembroke to Join H.B. Johnson in the practice of law in 1967. He remained active in the practice of law for the past 40 years. Jim will also be remembered for his lifelong love of horses, riding and his passion for the Lippitt Morgan horse.
Visitation at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Monday from 2 until 4:00 and 7 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Funeral Service will be held in Wesley United Church on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the church hall.
