COOPER, James (Jim) Ellis Knight of the Venerable Order of St. John Passed away suddenly, but peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Friday, November 27, 2009 in his 86th year. PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION IN MEMORIAL SERVICE DATE AND TIME: Jim Cooper of Pembroke, beloved husband for 64 years to Cora Cooper (nee Sickles). Dear father of Jim (Kathleen) Cooper of Kilmarnock and Jan (Bob) Elder of Stonecliffe. Dear grandfather of Chris Cooper, Ottawa, Steve Cooper, Ottawa, Tricia (Kevin Smith), Georgetown, Rob Elder, Waterloo and Mike (Amy) Elder, Nepean. Dearest poppa and great-grandpa to Jack, Heidi, Ashley, Allie and Matthew. A life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, for sixty-two years a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Pembroke Branch #72), a founding member of the Pembroke & Area St. John Ambulance Branch and Men's Brigade, a member of Pembroke Masonic Lodge A.F & A.M. #128 G.R.C., the Ottawa Valley Shrine Club and an avid fan of his beloved Pembroke Lumber Kings. The family extends to Dr's Eng, Lee and Hurley and the staff of the Pembroke Regional Hospital our sincere appreciation for their compassionate care. A Memorial Service in celebration of Jim's life will be held in St. Luke's Anglican Church (Julien St., Pembroke) on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5 AT 3:00 PM. Interment of ashes will be in the Spring of 2010. Jim's path in life crossed many roads and touched many individuals, groups and organizations.
