CAIRNS, Hugh Douglas (Longtime Member of the Pembroke Lodge A.F. & A.M. #128) Passed away peacefully at Marianhill on Friday, June 29, 2007 in his 94th year. Hugh Cairns of Pembroke beloved husband of the late Janet Cairns (nee Durrell). Dear father of Margaret Carins, Arnprior and Robert Cairns (Vyrlene), Stettler, AB. Grandfather to Cynthia MacMillan (Randall), Quispamsis, NB and Hugh Cairns (Julie), Kanata. Great-grandfather to Scott, Jeffrey, Rachel & Ashley. Brother of Edith Dameron, Maryland, USA. Predeceased by brothers Newell & Lloyd and sisters Helen & Wilda. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and good friends. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Paliative Care Unit of Marianhill for their excellent care of Hugh in his last days. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Members of the Pembroke Lodge A.F. & A.M. #128 are requested to assemble at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. for a service. Memorial Service to be held in Calvin United Church on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa.
