Holly Ann Margaret Carter

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Holly Ann Margaret Carter (née Bergeron) of Pembroke on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at the age of 63. Born in Marathon, Ontario, she was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Iwasiuk (née Wissian).

Holly was a loving mother to Amanda Meharrie of Ottawa and a cherished Nan to her grandchildren: Mayson, Jacob-James, Lily Winter, Siren Jean, and Aries Amberly. She is survived by her devoted siblings: her brother Mike (late Brenda) of Kingston, her brother Bill of White River, and her sister Gloria of Sudbury. She was predeceased by her brother Esmond.

As a former spouse and dear friend to Jamie Carter of Petawawa, Holly held a special place in many hearts. She enjoyed music, cooking, and gardening, thriving in the warmth of her friends and family. Holly was a vibrant spirit who always had something on the go, embracing life to the fullest. She was the friend you could count on to bring joy to any gathering and would drop everything to be there for those she cared about. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In accordance with Holly’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Indigenous Women’s Fund of Canada. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home.
