MARTIN, “Skip” Heather

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends, at her home in Petawawa on Friday, April 28 at the age of 76. Dearly loved daughter of the late Jack and Idela (Kish) Martin. Sadly missed by her caring neighbours, many friends and relatives. Possessing a great love of animals and young people, she will be deeply missed by her beloved dog “Cara.” 

A devoted teacher and educator, Skip's 37-year career spanned from S.S.#8 Wilberforce to Thunder Bay, Lahr, Germany, and finally CFB Petawawa. She cherished her summers at her Lake Dore cottage and hosting friends and family on numerous occasions at her Petawawa home. 

Respecting Skip's wishes, cremation has taken place. Spring interment will take place at the Eganville Anglican Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517, 3583 Petawawa Blvd, Petawawa ON, on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2-5:00 p.m. Professional arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society Wheels of Hope would be appreciated.
