ATKINS, Gertrude Alice With family by her side at Marianhill, Pembroke on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Gertrude Atkins (nee MacKaness) of Heritage Manor, Pembroke, and formerly of Deep River, wife of the late Arthur Atkins. Dear mother of Jean Allen (Kenneth), Kentville, NS; Ronald Atkins (Janice), Cluculz Lake, BC; Sanford Atkins (Sharron), St. Catharines; and Thelma McEwan (Mike), Eganville. Grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Sister of Dorothy McLelland (late Bob); and Donald Philpott (late Vel), both of Windsor. Respecting Gertrude's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Special thanks to Deacon Adrien Chaput and the staff at Marianhill.
