Gerald Hubert

HUBERT, Gerald Wallace – passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the age of 91 years. Gerry Hubert of Pembroke, beloved husband of Betty Hubert (nee Brisson). Loving father of Kathy Godin (Allan) & Terry Hubert (Elaine) both of Pembroke. Cherished grandpa of Tyler Godin (Christine), Kali Carroll (Jesse), Amanda Miller (Sean) and Zachary Hubert (Erica). Great-grandpa of Danika Miller, Jaykob Miller, Mason Meilleur, Eliza Hubert & Mickey Carroll. Dear brother of Shirley Ostashek, Max and Allen Hubert. Predeceased by parents Max & Effie Hubert (nee Popp) and by siblings Helen Frivault, Marion Griffith & Harry Hubert. Survived and missed by many nieces and nephews.

The family is thankful to the 2nd and 3rd floor nurses at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, and especially Karen during that last evening. They are also grateful for the support of Mitch, a Community Paramedic with RCP.

Gerry enjoyed his career as a mechanic, owning his own truck repair shop and finishing up his working life at Cassidy’s Transfer and Storage. His children, and especially his grandchildren, benefited greatly from his mechanic skills. He was a master storyteller, loved the outdoors, spending time at his hunt camp and calling his “buddies”. He was an avid fan of the Jays and the Leaf’s and any team playing the Habs. Most of all he was a great husband, father and an awesome Grandpa.

Respecting Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church with the intimacy of the immediately family only. Final resting place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow this summer.  Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
