Passed away at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Monday, July 17, 2023 at the age of 81 years.

George Hodgkinson of Laurentian Valley, dearly loved husband of Helgard Hodgkinson (nee Otting), married for 57 years.  Dear father of Laura Salter (Michael), Corbeil and Phillip Hodgkinson (Jennifer), Toronto.  Loving Grandad to Matthew Salter (Hunter) and Zachary Hodgkinson.  Son of the late Robert & Maude Hodgkinson (nee Taylor).  Survived by brother Peter Hodgkinson (late Evelyn and late Shirley).  Predeceased by sister Jane Woodley Smith (late Jim Woodley and late Glenn Smith) and brothers John Hodgkinson (late Josephine) & Murray Hodgkinson (late Patricia, late Joyce and Claire). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family & friends in Canada and Germany. 

Respecting George’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private family Graveside Service and interment of ashes was held at Beechwood National Military Cemetery, Ottawa.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Pembroke on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to Ottawa Heart Institute, Cardiac Amyloidosis Research or Holy Trinity Anglican Church would be appreciated.
