Garfield Stewart

STEWART, Garfield Emsley (known by many as Gary, and by family and friends as Wimpy) passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on May 15th, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer at the age of 64. Dearly beloved husband of Pauline Stewart (nee Demers). Dear father of Rob (Linda Voisin) and Garry (Stephanie Bergsma). Proud and ever-loving grandfather of Samantha, Owen, Luke and Jacob. Dear brother of Irene Gardner (Mel), Doug Stewart (late Charlotte); Ranny (Darlene), Ivy (John Girard), and Rose (John Binet), High Prairie, Alberta. Brother-in-law of Amy Stewart (late Allan) of Dowling, Ontario and Donna Stewart (late Melvin "Moe"); Diane McPhail (late Hector), Barbara Dey (Peter). Dear nephew of Agnes Lay. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Richard and Stella Stewart, brothers, Dickie (late Joyce), David, Murray and Grenville Stewart; in-laws Oscar and Anna-Mae Demers, and sister-in-law Theresa Demers. Wimpy, in his life of caring and kindness, touched many and he was loved by all. He will be missed. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 210 Mary Street (corner of Mary and Moffat St) Pembroke on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Interment of ashes in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Pembroke.
