GERRITS, Frank After a brave struggle with cancer, in hospital, Ottawa on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 in his 78th year. Frank Gerrits of 32 Barry Street, Pembroke was born before WW 2 in The Netherlands. His adventures began at an early age and continued after coming to Canada with his wife Dinie on a honeymoon that lasted 52 years. Frank settled in Pembroke and built a life of family and friends filled with soccer, golf, curling and lots of gardening along the way. Frank leaves behind his partner in life, marriage and family, his dear Dinie. Dad to Joan (Wade), Audrey (Ben) and Rick. Opa to Benjamen (Amber), Chelsey, Molly, Hannah, Jessica and Francis. His pride, love and generosity for all of us was limitless. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by cremation.
