BLAKE, Eva
Passed away peacefully in Marianhill, Pembroke on Tuesday, May 15th, 2007 at the age of 98 years.
Eva Blake (nee Wood), wife of the late Thomas Blake. Dearly loved mother of Frances Smith, Merrickville; and Louise Moore (husband Percy), Pembroke. Loving grandmother of Margot Joyce, Bradley Smith, Andrea Rubino, Carolyn Moore, Janet Purdell-Lewis; and 9 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Jacob and Ada Wood of England. Sister-in-law to Helen Blake, Barrie, Ontario. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Eva was well-known for her love of music - teaching piano and voice since graduating from Toronto Conservatory of Music in 1929. She also enjoyed her years as organist-choir director at the First Presbyterian Church; and of late composing music to several psalms.
Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, l4l Renfrew Street, Pembroke on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in Wesley United Church on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment in Wesley United Cemetery, Pembroke.
