MINNS, Eric "Jack" (Veteran WWII - Retired after 50 years with State Farm Insurance) Passed away peacefully at his home with his daughter by his side on Friday, February 17th, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Jack Minns of Pembroke husband of Dawna Minns and by previous marriages the late Margaret Emily Bell and the late Margaret "Peggy" McCrea. Dearly loved father of Malcolm Minns (Kim), Hamilton; David Minns (wife Marianne), Pembroke; Edna Minns-Roy (husband Eric), Calgary, AB; and Eryk Minns, Beachburg. Poppa to Alexander, Jessica, Derek, Michael, & Christopher. Brother of Norman Minns (wife Barbara), Cornwall, England. Predeceased by his sister Edna Minns. Jack was the co-founder of ARC Industries (Upper Ottawa Valley Association For Community Living) and King's Sports. He was part owner of the Pembroke Lumber Kings in the 1970's and remained one of their biggest fans. Jack was dedicated to his community in many ways, he was an ardent supporter of the performing arts in the Ottawa Valley. He will be sadly missed by his girls at the office: Mena, Kathy, Janice & Dawn and also by his good friend Ken Conroy. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff of Paramed Pembroke, Community Care Access Center and all staff of the Pembroke Regional Hospital for their excellent care. Finally, we would like to acknowledge our sister Edna, who moved here from her home in Calgary to care for Dad and remained by his side for his final five months. Your loving care of Dad in his final days will always be cherished & never forgotten. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Saturday from 7 until 9:00 p.m., Sunday from 2 until 4:00 and 7 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday after 9:30 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Monday, February 20th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. (As an expression of sympathy donations to Miramichi Lodge Foundation, the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated).
