OELKE, Elton – passed away peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in his 89th year. Elton Oelke of Petawawa, beloved husband of Beverley Oelke (nee Schwanz). Loving father of Elizabeth Jacob (Mark), London; and Julianne Oelke-Simonsen (Jens), Metcalfe. Cherished grandfather of Anna, Kaitlyn, Christopher & Ellen; and Jens E., Odin, Leif & Roan; and step-grandfather to Maria. Son of the late Alexander & Edna Oelke (nee Sack), and dear brother of Agnes Green (late Cecil). Predeceased by brothers Elmer (Doris), Stanley (late Elva) & Wallace “Butch” (Norma) Oelke; and brothers- and sisters-in-law Wilfred & Hildegard Schwanz (nee Kuss), Wallace & Ella Behnke (nee Schwanz), Herbert & Edith Behnke (nee Schwanz), and Earl Schwanz. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Respecting Elton’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 605 Black Bay Rd., Petawawa on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive family and friends in Luther Hall after 10:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
