SCHWANZ, Elmer Wilfred Passed away in Marianhill on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in his 84th year. Elmer Schwanz of Petawawa, beloved husband of 57 years to Phyllis Schwanz (nee Radtke). Cherished father of Mervin Schwanz (Linda), Kitchener; Gary Schwanz (Margo), Pembroke; Jane Wegner (Kevin), Petawawa; and Norine Giroux (David), Pembroke. Predeceased by son Randy Schwanz. Loving grandfather of Corey, Erika, Adam, Leah, Katie, Evan, Justin, Jarrett, Maddison, Danielle, Morgan and Tori. Son of the late Gustave and Wilhelmine Schwanz (nee Schwitzer). Brother of Mable Behnke, Pembroke. Predeceased by brothers Alfred, Leonard, Edgar, & Herman and sisters Doris Richardson & Helen Tunn. Survived by sisters-in-law Alma and Hilda Schwanz and many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in St. John's Lutheran Church, Petawawa on Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment in the Parish cemetery.
